ASRS Assurance Snapshot 2026

Nearly 300 of the total Group 1 cohort have officially submitted their first Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards (ASRS) reports with ASIC. There are four times as many private reports than those publicly available.  

Purpose Bureau, alongside Monash Business School and several other research partners, have developed ASRS IP: The first comprehensive and live analysis of all reports in Australia. We have ingested 290+ ASRS reports and coded every one against a 400-field data taxonomy. 

Continuing on from the inaugural ASRS State of the Market Report, we’ve completed an ASRS Assurance snapshot, giving you early insights from the December 31 reporting period Group 1s. It examines how the assurance market is priced, the outcomes, and why fees are likely to increase.

Only 16% of reporters disclosed a distinct assurance fee. Those that did paid a median $89,000 – around 1.8 times Treasury’s original estimate. As assurance scope widens and lifts to reasonable assurance by Year 4, the market is expected to be x3.95 higher when assurance reaches its mature state.
